John Keble C of E Primary

Early Years

At John Keble C of E Primary School, our EYFS and Year One curriculum is grounded in child development research and designed to nurture each child’s natural curiosity through a child-centred, step-by-step approach.
Through continuous provision and carefully structured learning opportunities, we blend the Early Years Foundation Stage framework with the National Curriculum to ensure progression in key areas of learning. Our overarching topic themes provide meaningful contexts for exploration, questioning, and creativity, helping children develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they need for future success.
The learning steps are drawn from both the programmes of study and child development research, ensuring children become confident, capable learners as they transition into Year 2.
